TWotW 1938 vs. 2005

Task:

Copy the grid below, enlarge it and use it as an observation sheet for a longer passage from the film. Responsibilities will be shared among students. Yet again, you`ll be allocated a number. If you`re looking for an extra challenge, please focus on two aspects.

SETTING	set in the USA	set in the USA
ATMOSPHERE	apocalyptic, dark, gloomy	nearly the same atmosphere but in a more epic way
CHARACTERS	no main character, only some reporters, informing the audience focus on the reaction of the public	focus on Tom Cruise and his family drama  some other characters which are not that important
ACTION	on the radio, we are informed that Martians invade our planet, at first they destroy everything, at the end they died because of the bacteria on earth	focus on the story of the character, played by Tom Cruise, and his escape shows how the Martians destroy the Earth –> same ending as in the radio play
THE ROLE OF THE MEDIA	shows the great influence of media on the public people believed in what they heard on the radio
AUDIENCE IMPACT	without the involvement of the listeners, there would not have been this panic want to make the audience listen	no involvement of the audience
